THE IDEA BEHIND THE LOOK
One more story before the pie
The fire settles, the last chair pulls in, and a burgundy ribbon of cloth draws the table together. White napkins keep the six places bright while small pumpkins sit between the candlelight. This is the Thanksgiving that stretches into evening: cousins catching up, plates passed twice, and someone saving a good story until the pie comes out.
Use the burgundy runner as the one deep color; white napkins keep the long table light.
Put it together
- 01
Set six woven mats and six single white dinner plates. Lay a dinner fork to each diner’s left and a knife to the right, with its cutting edge facing the plate. Align handles toward each chair; two 20-piece flatware packs cover six guests with spare settings and utensils.
- 02
Gather six white cotton napkins through the six gold spiral rings. Add one ribbed plastic cup per guest and loosely gather the burgundy runner down the middle.
- 03
Group three LED pillars centrally with five miniature pumpkins spaced along the runner. Supply six AA batteries separately and test sightlines before the meal.
One thing to consider
The full plan pays for whole packs, including two flatware packs for six guests. The clear cups and LED pillars are plastic, and the mini pumpkins are foam. Six AA batteries are required for the three candles and are outside the allowance.
What is outside this budget?
Dining table, chairs, fireplace, background plants and furnishings, food, drinks, serving dishes, six AA batteries, tax and shipping are excluded.
