Four small habits for cards that read well
- Print a test sheet on plain paper first. Hold a card at arm’s length; if you squint, switch to the Classic style or shorten the event line.
- Score before you fold. Run an empty ballpoint pen along the dashed line with a ruler, then fold away from the score for a crisp tent.
- Sort by table for the setup. Choose By table before printing so each sheet groups one table and setting up takes minutes.
- Print two spares. Leave a couple of blank cards in the set for a late yes or a plus-one written by hand.

What size should place cards be?
A folded tent card of 3.5 by 2 inches is the classic size and reads clearly from across a dinner table. Flat cards of the same size lean against a glass or sit in a holder. Both print two across on Letter or A4 paper, so each sheet gives four tent cards or ten flat cards.
What paper should I print place cards on?
Use cardstock between 65 and 110 lb (about 175 to 300 gsm). Lighter card folds cleanly and stands well; heavier card feels more formal but may need scoring along the fold first. Choose a matte or linen finish so ink does not smudge, and print at 100% scale with no fit-to-page option.
How do I write names on place cards?
Use the name your guest goes by, with a first and last name when two guests share a first name. Titles are optional at home and customary at formal events. Keep dietary notes short, such as Vegetarian or Nut allergy, so kitchen staff can read them at a glance.
Are my guest names saved?
Yes, on this device. The card set is stored in this browser as you work, so you can close the page and return. Nothing is uploaded or shared. Clearing your browser data or using a private window removes it.
