The table remembers everyone

The last chair is pulled in. A small orange pumpkin catches the afternoon light, and a gold coil holds the soft green napkin where a hand will soon unfold it. There is nothing tall to lean around: just three quiet pools of light and a little autumn color between the places. The white plates will return for other dinners. Tonight, the familiar table has made room for the late arrival, the repeated story, and the person who always stays to help clear up.

Set out your serving dishes before styling the center. Move the candles and pumpkins to a sideboard if dinner needs the whole tabletop.

Put it together

   Set six woven mats with one plain white plate on each. Put a dinner fork to the left and a knife and spoon to the right.

   Gather each sage napkin through a gold coil ring. Place one clear ribbed cup above each setting.

3. 03

   Gather the ivory runner along the center, then group three LED pillars with five mini pumpkins. Leave space for hands and serving dishes.
